Poland: Action Poland profitable within 2 years after market entry

Non-food discount retail chain Action (owned by PE Investor 3i Group) ended 2019 with a net profit of PLN 7,085,839.41 (US $ 1.9 Mn). In 2019, the successfull European discount chain opened 32 new stores in Poland. In 2020, Action plans to open 38 additional non-food discount stores.


The balance sheet total of Action Poland at the end of 2019, i.e. as at December 31, 2019, both in terms of assets and liabilities, is PLN 125,766,098.71 (US $ 34 Mn) and employed 926 employees.


Action opened its first store in Leszno in 2017, currently it has 75 stores in Poland.
