USA, China, Netherlands and Germany are one of the leading trading nations in the agricultural sector. In terms of both imports and exports, Germany ranks third worldwide. It is noticeable that the comparatively small Netherlands are the second largest exporter in the world and export around 30% more agricultural goods in terms of value than the many times larger China.

The export surplus is also particularly pronounced in the Netherlands.The income from agricultural exports there is around 37% higher than the expenditure for the import of agricultural goods.France, Spain and Brazil are also among the net exporters.In all the other countries listed, imports outweigh exports in Germany by around 22%.
