Discount Variety Retail Chain Wibra will further implement its ambitious growth plan in 2025. From February to May, the retailer opens an average of two stores per week. Wibra continues to expand in the second half of the year. With the further growth towards 350 stores, Wibra strengthens its position in the retail market.
"We are constantly working on optimizing our store offer," says CEO Bas Duijsens. "By carefully researching suitable locations, we are further expanding our branch portfolio." In the coming months, Wibra will open stores in Muiden, Dordrecht, Heerhugowaard, Haarlem, Gouda, Groningen, Breda, Boxtel, Urk and Lisse, among others. New stores are also being opened in Belgium, including branches in Bertrix, Antwerp and Bilzen.
Repurposing of buildings and renewed store conceptThe stores will be located in former Blokker buildings, among other places. Where possible, Wibra will retain the existing layout, which contributes to a sustainable repurposing of retail spaces. Wibra is also investigating the possibilities for cooperation with former employees of these buildings.
In addition to the expansion, Wibra continues to invest in the renewal of its existing stores. This includes rebrandings, strategic relocations, and remodeling. It is expected that by 2025, about 100 Wibra stores, both new and existing, will have a fresh and contemporary look.
True to missionWith this expansion, Wibra remains true to its mission: to make customers' daily lives easier. "We want to be a familiar part of the daily shopping routine," explains Bas Duijsens. "By locating our stores close by and offering an affordable range, we ensure that every household can participate. Our focus remains on healthy growth and we are happy to be able to take these important steps!"
