Poland: Aldi is building its third distribution center

Discount Retail Chain ALDI Poland continues to develop its logistics infrastructure. The third distribution center of the chain is being built in the CTPark Warsaw Emilianów business park near Warsaw. The warehouse with an area of 43,000 sqm. will be commissioned in the first quarter of 2026 and will improve deliveries to stores in central and north-eastern Poland. In connection with the launch of the centre, ALDI plans to create almost 150 new jobs.

ALDI with a new distribution centre near Warsaw

"The opening of the distribution centre in Emilianów is a strategic step in the development of ALDI's logistics in Poland. Thanks to the new location, we will significantly increase the flexibility and efficiency of our deliveries in the central and north-eastern parts of the country. Equally important, the investment will allow us to be even closer to our customers, and thus respond faster to their needs," says Wojciech Łubieński, President of the Management Board of ALDI Poland. The existing warehouse in Chorzów will continue to supply stores in southern Polish, while the Distribution Center in Lisi Ogon, opened in 2022, will continue to supply in the northern regions.

In connection with the launch of the centre, ALDI plans to create almost 150 new jobs, both in the operational and technical, administrative and logistics areas.

Modern refrigeration infrastructure

The 43,000 sqm facility in Emilianów will also have a modern refrigeration infrastructure, enabling it to handle approximately 25% of temperature-controlled deliveries. The special cold storage zone is part of the network's strategy of supplying the highest quality fresh products, including a range of fruit and vegetables. Almost 90 unloading ramps are planned in the warehouse. The investment will significantly reduce the burden on distribution centres in Bydgoszcz and Chorzów, which will translate into faster deliveries to ALDI stores in the following regions: Mazowieckie, Warmińsko-Mazurskie, Podlaskie, Łódzkie and Lubelskie.

In 2024, ALDI opened nearly 60 new stores. Currently, the chain has over 360 stores, and there are plans for further openings this year, also in the capital. The scale of expansion and the growing popularity of the brand in this part of the country is confirmed by the decision to build a new, central distribution center in the Mazowieckie region. A number of ecological solutions have been used in the facility: a photovoltaic installation with a capacity of 500 kWp, transfer smoke extraction of the freezer, as well as the use of waste heat from the cooling system to heat the floors and prepare hot water.

Our goal as a developer and owner of the park in Emilianów was to create a place that would provide the client with long-term stability and operational flexibility. ALDI is the first tenant of the newly built CTPark Warsaw Emilianów to be an important partner for us. The scale of the investment can also be evidenced by solutions such as: cold chain logistics technology, handling the receipt and shipment of several hundred vehicles every day, availability of parking spaces for almost 70 trucks, comments Piotr Flugel, Managing Director at CTP Polska. The facility is being built as part of the WEMI01 building. The new ALDI warehouse is another step towards efficient and responsible logistics, which supports the dynamic expansion of the network on the Polish market.

ALDI in Poland has over 360 stores and employs over 4800 people. The ALDI North Group's success is based on its team of more than 88,000 employees in Belgium, France, Germany, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal and Spain.
