Discount Retail Chain Lidl Portugal announced that the results of its joint export campaign with Portugal Fresh represent a 23% increase compared to last year, reaffirming the retailer's support for national producers. In 2022, more than 1,500 trucks with national fruit and vegetables left the country for 11 European markets.
By taking the national lead in the export of Portuguese products to Europe and being the brand that offers the opening to most different markets, without obtaining any tax incentives for this attitude and this by supporting partners, with contracts signed with the destination markets, with the advantage that the partners are able to: Planning the quantities to be exported through its store network, over the years, Lidl has contributed to a sustainable growth in the export of national fruits and vegetables to the different countries in which it is present.
In 2022, through its partnership with Portugal Fresh, Lidl has helped national producers export 27,000 tonnes of fruit and vegetables, a growth of 23% compared to the previous year.
