Discount Retail Chain Aldi closed the year with 105 supermarkets in Andalusia, adding 6 new establishments and more than 7,700 m2 of sales space. ALDI plans to open around 40 new stores in Spain this year, around 18% of which will be held in Andalusia, the community with the most ALDI stores in the country.
ALDI maintains its commitment to continue growing in Andalusia and announces that it plans to open 7 new stores in the region during 2025. These openings are part of the ambitious expansion plan that the company is carrying out in Spain, which maintains the pace of recent years with the forecast of about 40 new establishments this year, spread throughout the national territory. Specifically, about 18% of the openings will be held in Andalusia.
These openings will give continuity to the significant growth experienced in Andalusia in recent years, which has positioned itself as the autonomous community with the most ALDI stores in Spain, with a total of 105 supermarkets. The company closed 2024 with more than 113,000 m2 on Andalusian soil, totalling 7,700 m2 thanks to the opening of 6 stores. These inaugurations took place in the Malaga municipalities of Torre del Mar, Marbella and Nerja, in the province of Cádiz in El Puerto de Santa María and Algeciras and in the Seville province of San José de la Rinconada.
In order to continue to bring its purchase option based on discount and low prices closer, ALDI has opened nearly 130 stores in Spain in the last three years, 26 in Andalusia. Thanks to this commitment to the Andalusian region, the company has more than 1,400,000 customers in the autonomous community. In fact, nearly 4 out of 10 Andalusian families have shopped at ALDI in the last year.
ALDI's expansion plans for this year include its consolidation in the Canary Islands and the Balearic Islands and the opening of new stores in the northern region of the country, with openings in the Basque Country, Aragon, Galicia and Cantabria. The company will also boost itself in strategic territories - Andalusia, the Community of Madrid, the Community of Valencia and Catalonia will account for more than half of the planned expansion - and will reaffirm its growth in other regions such as the Region of Murcia.
