Discount Retail Chain Bara added 112 net stores between July and September, reached 898 establishments and increased its same-store sales by 10.3%.

Tiendas Bara increased its total revenues by 44.1% during the third quarter of 2026 (July-September), compared to the same period in 2025, according to FEMSA's earnings report. The discount chain also recorded an average growth of 10.3% in same-store sales.

José Antonio Fernández Garza-Lagüera, CEO of FEMSA, noted that the company sees progress in its growth platforms, "with Bara gaining momentum as it accelerates its expansion and strengthens the performance of its growing store base."

Revenue accelerates compared to Q2

The group identified favorable performance in groceries, home care and convenience. Bara Stores operates in the hard discount segment, whose business model is concentrated in compact stores and everyday consumer products.

During the second quarter of 2026 (April-June), revenue had increased 35.8% compared to the second quarter of 2025 and same-store sales 11.3%, according to Retailers Magazine's coverage on July 30. Thus, third-quarter year-over-year revenue growth was 8.3 percentage points higher than the previous quarter, while same-store sales were one percentage point lower.

Two quarters with 112 net openings

Between July and September 2026, Bara added 112 net stores, the same number recorded between April and June. The network went from 786 establishments as of June 30 to 898 as of September 30, 2026.

In the twelve months ended September 30, 2026, the chain added 325 net stores, an increase of 56.7% compared to its base on September 30, 2025.

FEMSA presents Bara's indicators separately in its quarterly reports: neither the network nor the chain's results are consolidated in the figures for the Americas and Mobility segment.
